Customer Appreciation Day with the Reading Phillies
On Sunday, July 10, 2011 hundreds of AutoRewards members' families took to the stands at beautiful First Energy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania, home of the Reading Phillies. It was an afternoon of blue skies, hot sun, and all the excitement that two strong minor-league teams could provide for the 2,000 guests of the Fred Beans AutoRewards program. Floppy fingers, Phillies tees, raffles and more made the family-style event one to remember for years to come.
The early evening game matched up the Class AA Phillies, an affiliate of the 2010 Eastern League champion Philadelphia Phillies, with the Trenton Thunder, a Class AA affiliate of the New York Yankees. From a slim Trenton lead in the first inning, the Phils 5-run rally in the 4th, initiated by a homer on the fly ball to center field, put the Reading team ahead for keeps. The final score of 8-5 was a perfect cap to a perfect day of baseball.
