100 Fred Beans employees Walk @ Lunch

Left to right: Walkers from Fred Beans Hyundai in Doylestown include Nicole Larue-Bend, warranty administrator; Maryanne Carignan, receptionist; Tom Bradley, technician; Andrew Hinckley, assistant sales manager; Rob McNichol, technician; Charlie Barr, lot attendant; Chris Limbert, finance manager; Matt Tucker, general manager; and Phil Hofmann, sales rep.

They came out in force to wear down some shoe leather (or sneaker rubber) in the parking lots and on the sidewalks and macadam paths around their work sites and to feel a lot better about themselves…and perhaps feel less guilty about that bowl of ice cream they ate the night before.

Yes, 100 Fred Beans employees walked out for their health on National Walk @ Lunch Day on Wednesday, April 27, from these locations: Ford Lincoln Mercury Mitsubishi, Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Subaru, Cadillac Saab Buick GMC, Chevrolet, Collision Center, Management Office, Detail, Hyundai, Nissan and Fred Beans Parts in Doylestown, and Volkswagen of Devon, Ford of Boyertown and Ford of West Chester.

The event is an initiative of Blue Cross Blue Shield and was sponsored by the Fred Beans Healthy Living Committee. Each location’s wellness coordinator punched walkers’ Wellness Punch Cards – participation earned them five punches.

“The punches for participating in Fred Beans wellness initiatives add up quickly,” said Linda Bell, director of Human Resources, “and completed cards can be turned in for $25 gift cards at local stores.”

Tonia Cutchineal of the Collision Center in Doylestown took home a $100 American Express gift card as winner of the raffle all participants were eligible for, while every walker will receive either a pedometer or a National Walk @ Lunch tee shirt.

“We hope all our walkers are proud of their accomplishments and had some fun, too, while taking a very important step toward improving their health,” said Bell.
