When Fred Beans bought his first New Jersey Toyota Scion and Kia dealerships back in November 2012, he knew he was going to develop a money-saving customer-loyalty program to bring added value to all those who purchased vehicles from him in Flemington and returned for service as needed.
But recognizing that crossing the Delaware was bringing changes in regulations and business structures to this wing of his Pennsylvania-based automotive group, he just wasn’t sure what AutoRewards, Jersey-style, would look like.
As it turns out, Fred Beans AutoRewards benefits in the Garden State are virtually interchangeable with PA’s. A few minor amendments were all it required to make a program that is second to none in New Jersey.
“The big difference for New Jersey drivers is with state inspection,” says Brad Hackendahl, general manager of the Flemington Toyota Scion and Kia dealerships. “Since New Jersey doesn’t have an annual state inspection that can be done at a repair shop or service center, our Garden State AutoRewards members can come to us for an informative and safety-conscious ‘Free 100-Point Vehicle Inspection’ once a year.
“Many members are finding this service valuable prior to long road trips or a scheduled NJ Division of Motor Vehicles inspection. We’ve also added a new network of merchants in the Hunterdon County area.”
