Blood drive has winners all around

No, it doesn't hurt...

When Fred Beans hosts a blood drive at one of its stores, it seems to create a lot of winners. For example, April’s drive at the Chevrolet store in Doylestown collected enough pints to help more than 125 people, while a random drawing among the day’s 42 donors put Phillies tickets in the hands of Steve Goodman from the Parts Warehouse. (The tickets were donated by Stream Companies, the Malvern advertising agency that provides professional services to the Beans organization.)

“We hold about three drives a year,” says Chris Hall, Fred Beans database marketing manager and member of the Bucks County board of the American Red Cross Southeastern PA Chapter. “Since 2001, the earliest year for which I have records, our employees have donated 1134 pints of blood. That’s enough to help as many as 3402 people.”

The ARC branch has also sponsored the Central Bucks Chamber’s Red Ball Gala and donated a Resusci Anne training mannequin. Besides blood drives, Fred Beans employees participate frequently in Jeans Day fundraisers that benefit SEPA ARC.

The Fred Beans blood drives are also open to the public. For more information or to make a donation directly to the local Red Cross, contact Chris Hall: CHall@fredbeans.com or 215.348.2901 x102.
