Coats For Kids

In an effort to help ease the financial burdens for struggling families in the area, this past Tuesday, November 4, 2015 at the YMCA in Doylestown, local kids in the community received free coats thanks to the Coats For Kids program sponsored by Auto Dealers CARing for Kids. Fred Beans Automotive donated 50 coats from 9 stores, collecting a total of 450 new coats valued at nearly $7,500.

“This program exemplifies philanthropy to the fullest extent,” Scott Lustgarten, president of the foundation, said in a statement. “It’s all about people helping people. The men and women who make up our membership have risen above their own challenges to continue to help those who are in greater need.”

Each year the program grows and more coats are distributed than the last. This year over 22,000 coats in 5 Philadelphia suburbs will be given away with over 3,800 distributed in Bucks County. “Living without basic necessities is a reality for so many children in our area,” said Debbie Tettemer at Central Bucks Family YMCA. “These coats from local new auto dealers help provide warmth and security for children and their caregivers.”

The next pick up date and address are:

November 17, 4-8 pm
Warminster Heights Community Center
75 Downey Drive, Warminster, PA
