Fred Beans announces the purchase of Toyota, Scion and Kia franchises in Flemington, New Jersey, a deal completed while Hurricane Sandy was kicking up her heels along the eastern seaboard.
Fred Beans Toyota Scion and Fred Beans Kia of Flemington – formerly James Toyota and Kia –reopened November 6 at 174 and 172 Route 202 in Flemington, marking the organization’s first automotive sales and service presence in New Jersey. The acquisition gives the Fred Beans Family a total of 18 different brands sold in 15 dealerships across the region.
“I’m honored and excited to be in Hunterdon County,” said Fred Beans, president of the automotive group. “We chose this location for our first New Jersey dealership because we fell in love with the community and we really want to be a part of it.”
Beans is taking the reins of a 20-year-old franchise housed in a three-year-old 60,000-square-foot building. According to Toyota’s Environmental, Safety and Quality Communications Department, the LEED Silver-certified facility is Toyota’s only Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified dealership in the state.
Besides rounding out his brands with a Toyota franchise, the new building and its LEED certification are attractions that fit right in with Beans’s priorities. His commitment to the environmental and business advantages of energy-saving upgrades has been evident in improvements to his Pennsylvania stores in recent years, and his new building projects have also employed extensive environmental design aspects.
The Flemington facility provides a comfortable and convenient car-shopping experience for customers and also features a large showroom and service waiting areas that offer such customer amenities as a large-screen television, coffee station and Wi-Fi.
“At our dealerships, the customer always comes first,” said Beans. “It’s what I believe in and it’s the way we’ve conducted business for over fifty years. That principle has allowed me to grow into Pennsylvania’s largest privately held automotive group and to expand into New Jersey.”
The new Fred Beans dealership will be overseen on a daily basis by Brad Hackendahl, general manager. To reach Toyota Scion: 888.379.1107 sales, 888.892.9632 service, 888.711.3687 parts. To reach Kia: 888.861.6844 sales, 888.552.6967 service, 888.857.5606.
