When the Central Bucks West Football Parents Club hosts its fourth Ford Drive 4 UR School fundraiser along MacFarlane Lane from 11am to 7pm on Friday, August 31, organizers will have a really good reason to push beyond the 300-test-drive cap that Ford Motor Company will fund at $20 a test drive.
Fred Beans Family of Dealerships has again promised to donate $20 per test drive over 300. Last year, that donation added $1,440 to Ford’s $6,000 after the parents group, cheerleaders, band members and football team rallied 372 people to test drive Fords on the last Friday in August along MacFarlane Drive at the Doylestown school.
This year, the total raised will again be shared among the three groups: band, cheerleaders and football team.
Ford has created a simple national program that reinforces the relationship between business and education communities in towns across the country. Ford assists school groups with Drive 4 UR School marketing materials, samples and tips to ensure a successful fundraising event. The school groups partner with a local Ford dealership to provide vehicles and accompanying drivers. The no-pressure, no-sales-pitch, no-obligation event is held in conjunction with another school activity and gives people of the community an opportunity to support the school and its programs by taking a test-drive in a new Ford.
For each qualified test drive – drivers must be licensed, 18 years of age or older and just one to a household is eligible – Ford donates $20, up to $6,000. CB West’s event raised $1,800 in 2009, $4,660 in 2010, $6,000 plus $1,440 in 2011.
All members of the community are invited to participate, with NO obligation to buy anything and NO commitment. Last year, some businesses sent their entire staffs to take test drives. Drivers can sign up in advance at WestFootballTestDrive@yahoo.com to reserve a test-drive time slot, or just show up and enjoy the other activities while waiting for an opening.
The day’s events include celebs and special guests stopping by throughout the day as well as music, food and raffles of valuable prizes including a Fred Beans AutoRewards Platinum membership:
