Fred Beans Ford announces that it is one of no more than 900 Ford dealers nationwide that the manufacturer plans to certify to display, sell and service Ford’s current and future line-up of plug-in electric vehicles. The Doylestown dealership was approved in March of this year.
There are currently 3,429 Ford or Ford Lincoln dealers in the U.S.
The showroom, at 876 N. Easton Road in Plumstead Township, has the fully electric 2013 Ford Focus Electric on site.
This Focus is America’s most fuel-efficient five-passenger vehicle, according to the manufacturer’s website. It is certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to offer the equivalent of 110 miles per gallon (MPGe) city.
Focus Electric is joined by the new 2013 Fusion hybrid and most recently the 2013 Fusion Energi, a plug-in hybrid. The aim is to create one of the industry’s most fuel-efficient car lineups.
The Doylestown Ford dealership has installed level 2 charging stations that provide plug-in power “refills” to the Ford electrics and plug-in hybrids and other EVs that Fred Beans sells across its dealerships. Beans customers can plug in for free to fully charge a vehicle in under two hours.
