Everybody loves a winner, and that was evident when Robyn Jacquot of Collegeville came to Fred Beans Volkwagen of Devon to pick up her raffle prize – a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SE – following the June 2 drawing at the Devon Horse Show & Country Fair.
A transplant from North Carolina, Jacquot purchased her chances for several prizes at the Devon Derby booth when she was attending her first Devon Horse Show & Country Fair. The booth was part of the fair portion of this 11-day event held at the Devon Horse Show grounds on Lancaster Avenue. Proceeds of the Country Fair activities and concessions go to Bryn Mawr Hospital, as they have since the Fair’s inception in 1919, just three years after the hospital itself was established.
The Devon Horse Show started in 1896 as a one-day competition. Today the internationally recognized and USEF-A-rated show is the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed competition in the United States. And while it draws top competitors from around the world, the show continues to reflect the local traditions and lifestyles of the Philadelphia Main Line.
Whatever the competing riders, drivers, trainers, owners and horses themselves took home from their contests, Robyn Jacquot can count herself in the winners’ circle this year.
