Inspiration was at the top of the program on a beautiful Saturday, June 22, when Fred Beans Ford held its 3rd Annual Mustang Stampede for fans of the iconic Ford vehicle, with a special goal to demonstrate support for 13-year-old Isabella Johnson as she continues her recovery from Lyme disease.
The Mustang show, held at the Ford dealership on the outskirts of Boyertown, drew hundreds of car enthusiasts and others who just wanted to deliver a dose of hope and make a difference in one young girl’s life.
“We collected get-well cards and warm wishes,” says Mark Malizzi, service manager. “It has been a way for us to encourage Bella to keep up her spirits on the road to a full recovery.
“Every year Fred Beans of Boyertown’s True Blue Racing Parts does a Mustang Stampede. But we wanted to do more than just bring in Mustangs – we wanted to make a difference in our community or in the life of someone who needs a boost.”
The organizers took donations and sold tickets for a 50/50 cash raffle to raise additional money toward Bella’s medical costs that weren’t covered by insurance. Mark reports that Bella and her family were “over the moon” happy with the gifts and well-wishes.
He also noted that 176 different Mustangs were on the field throughout the day, models from 1964 to the present including Shelbys, Roush and Saleen.
Winners were announced in six categories – come back soon to learn who they were!
