Philly Auto Show opens this weekend

We’ve talked about the biggest, so now let’s talk about the closest. Close is good!

With the NAIAS finishing its record-breaking nine-day run in Detroit on January 22, our motors are revving for our own Philly Auto Show, January 28 through February 5, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

The show boasts 600,000 square feet of wood grain, leather and steel – more than 700 vehicles from a variety of manufacturers from around the globe – and is recognized by the industry as one of the top shows in the country.

The Black Tie Tailgate Party this Friday night is a charity fundraiser for the Division of Gastroenterology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. (The only tickets remaining for the gala are $225pp, although $100 of that is tax-deductible.)

Tickets for the rest of us are a reasonable $12 for Adults (age 13 and up), $6 for kids ages 7-12, and $6 on weekdays only for seniors 62 and up. Small fry ages 6 and under pay nothing, which is good because most of them are saving their paychecks to buy Mom a really nice Valentine’s present in a couple weeks.

For more information, including e-ticket purchasing, directions, thumbnails of the vehicles expected to be on display and a range of special show information, visit the show’s official website.
