Red Cross holds test-drive fundraiser at Fred Beans Ford Lincoln Dec. 6

For those who are seriously squeamish or have other reasons, American Red Cross of Southeastern PA, Lincoln Motor Company and Fred Beans Lincoln have conspired to provide you with a way to support your regional chapter without giving a drop of blood or even opening your wallet.

And it will be tons of fun, too!

On Friday, December 6, volunteers from the local Red Cross chapter and Fred Beans will host a Lincoln Driven to Give test-drive fundraiser that can earn a donation from Lincoln for up to $8,000. All you have to do is come to the dealership between 8am and 3pm and pick out a brand new Lincoln – hybrid, top-of-the-line luxury, cross-over, sedan, big or small. Take it for a quick spin around the block, fill out a survey asking questions about your test-drive experience, and Lincoln will donate $20 to your local Red Cross.

Here’s how it works: One licensed driver per household address, age 18 and older, may sign up and take a test drive to qualify for the Lincoln donation. Lincoln tallies the surveys and mails the dealership a check made out to American Red Cross, SEPA Chapter. A very easy $20 for each qualified test drive, up to 300 test drives, or $6,000.

But wait! as the infomercials say. As a special bonus, this Driven to Give event will offer up to 100 qualified drivers the chance to take a second test drive in a new Lincoln MKX crossover and earn an additional $20 donation – up to $2,000, or a fundraising total of up to $8,000.

Last June, Kathy Donahue, Director of Maternal-Child Services at Doylestown Hospital, coordinated a Lincoln Driven to Give fundraiser that raised $4560!

Lincoln is looking to pair local dealerships with local nonprofits and schools so it can channel funds to worthy causes through its Driven to Give program. It’s a community-builder first and foremost, and secondly an opportunity for Lincoln to get feedback on its motorcars from drivers who may not have considered a Lincoln before.

You will not be contacted by anyone at Lincoln unless you ask to be, and the staff from Fred Beans are there to answer your questions and ensure your safety, not to sell you a vehicle.

HR Director Barb Hebel takes her test drive last June for Doylestown Hospital.

So mark your calendars, make sure you know your home address, and set aside a half hour to help out the American Red Cross, Southeastern PA, between 8am and 3pm on Friday, December 6, at Fred Beans Ford Lincoln, 876 N. Easton Road, Doylestown, 18902, at the intersection with Sawmill Road.

Remember, this is a community fundraiser. No sales pitch, no hassle, no obligation to buy or sign up for anything and hardly any waiting at all. Oh yeah, and no needles.
