Registration for the 2012 9/11 Heroes Run is now open for select locations across the USA.
As was the case with the 9/11’s 10th anniversary Heroes Run last year, this year’s race is actually many races, held around the world at airbases and military installations as well as in towns and cities where the spirit is strong. Half of the proceeds from the events support the many highly regarded and wonderfully effective programs of the Travis Manion Foundation; the Foundation distributes the remaining 50 percent into each race location’s community via a local first responder or veteran charity.
The first 9/11 Heroes Run was held right here in Doylestown in 2008. Fred Beans Family of Dealerships has supported the event each year since that initial race. This year, Doylestown’s race is scheduled for Sunday, 9 September, at Fonthill and the Tile Works, which can be accessed from Swamp Road (Route 313). The race is set to start at 2:00 with the one-mile fun run and followed by the 5K. Registration is $25 – the fundraising goal for the Doylestown event is $15,000.
Please consider joining the many runners and sponsors across the country and around the world who are honoring the fallen. Help make the 2012 9/11 Heroes Run wherever you are reach its fundraising goal and raise awareness for the needs of returning veterans and wounded warriors and their families.
