The accounting office for Fred Beans Parts created a little holiday magic on Tuesday, December 21. Instead of doing their usual Secret Santa gift exchange, they collected donations from the office staff. Everyone was also asked to name a charity to whom the money would be donated.
On Tuesday, the charity names went into a Santa hat. The name drawn for the Surprise Santa was Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County. After the office’s Christmas lunch, controller Ben Naska and a few other team members drove right to the BBBSBC office on York Road in Warwick and presented $185 to the nonprofit.
“They had gone together and raised money for a select local non-profit organization and we were chosen for 2010,” said Joe Morrison, Partnership Development for BBBSBC. “They came by to drop off the donation and to celebrate their efforts with us.
“This is a real credit to [the Fred Beans] organization and to the generosity your employees have shown. These monies will go directly to support our program here in Bucks County.”
Ben Naska, head of the Parts Accounting Office, said, “This was the first year we did this, and we all are in agreement that we want to continue to do it every year with a chosen charity.”
