Volkswagen and Ford execs, marketing, designers, autoworkers, sales teams and fans are whooping it up in Detroit today, with this morning’s announcement of the 2015 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year winners: the entire 2015 Golf series and the highly anticipated F-150 pickup.
We’re coming up on the season of car shows and awards. With Motor Trend’s choices in, we have only a few days before the announcement that tells us which two of six finalists take home the title of North American Car or North American Truck/Utility of the Year.
Congratulations to General Motors and Chevrolet, which swept the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year awards with the Corvette Stingray and Silverado 1500. The two were named to the top spots by a panel of automotive journalists on Monday.
The top picks are in. Automotive journalists selected Hyundai Genesis as 2009 North American Car of the Year—the first time a Korean automake has been awarded the honor—while Ford’s F-150 pickup took 2009 North American Truck of the Year, its third time to be so named.
