When you have a budget that's under $10K, don't worry. You can still find a great used car for an under $10,000 price. What should you look for when you're searching for a used car that has a price tag of under $10K?
- Mileage – Normally, used cars that have a less than $10,000 price tag have been around for a while, which means they probably have racked up quite a few miles. A good average to base mileage on is about 10,000 miles per driving year. So, if the car is 10 years old, it should have about 100,000 miles on it. That being said, not all vehicles are the same when it comes to how damaging high milage could be. There are several used vehicles that are still on the road after they have hit 200,000 miles. You'll want to use your judgment to determine whether the number of miles on the vehicle is worth it.
- Condition – You'll also want to check the condition of the vehicle. Here at Fred Beans Automotive Group, our team of technicians thoroughly inspects every used vehicle, but you'll also want to give it a good look over. Check for dents, discolored paint, chips, cracks, and rust.
- Brand – Some brands are well-known for their long-lasting capabilities and reliable vehicles, while others are better off as a new model. You'll want to take a closer look at what type of brand you're interested in. Some popular used car brands are Toyota, Subaru, Honda, Mazda, Lexus, Hyundai, and more.
