History of Fred Beans Automotive Group

Fred Beans entered the automotive industry in 1959 with the purchase of a service station in Yardley, Pennsylvania. He was 21 and needed his mother to cosign the loan. From that service station, Fred rented and leased vehicles - his introduction into automotive sales and a precursor of his future success. He ventured into dealerships with a handshake in 1972 that made him a 25% partner in Bill Marsh Ford in Newtown.

Today, that same dealership is one of 30 bearing his name stretching from Mechanicsburg, Flemington, and beyond. The growth of the Fred Beans Automotive Group has also meant diversifying our operations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey markets.

Fred Beans 50 Year Anniversary!

From 1975 to 2025, Fred Beans has grown tremendously. We are proud of all we've accomplished and where we will continue to grow. To commemorate this 50 year achievement, a fully restored 1975 Ford Bronco has hit the road!

Fred Beans Honored with Ford Lifetime Achievement Award

Fred Beans recently become the third ever recipient of the Ford Motor Company's Lifetime Achievement Award. Representatives from Ford visited Beans to personally deliver new of the rare Award, stating "Fred, you truly embody the spirit of dedication, the drive for innovation and the power of partnership that defines our Ford family," said Megan Pallischeck Carlini. The official award ceremony took place at the Ford Dealer Meeting in Las Vegas and was preceded by a video tribute to Beans.

In 2023, Beth Beans Gilbert, Fred's daughter and the current vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group, received the Barbara Cox Woman of the Year Award.

In 2025, the Fred Beans Automotive Group was named (for the seventh year in a row) among the Best Places to Work in the Greater Philadelphia Region from the Philadelphia Business Journal.
