Celebrating 50 Years in Business

Fred purchased Mel Harris Ford, now Fred Beans Ford of Doylestown, in April 1975. This was his first solo venture into owning and operating a dealership and the start of what has become a thriving business and brand.

Fifty years later, the Fred Beans Automotive Group encompasses 30 dealerships, 21 brands, eight CARSTAR collision centers, two AutoExpress locations, a parts distribution center, two Carquest locations, four Autorents, and commercial truck sales.

Fred continues to lead the business, alongside his family and supported by a team of more than 2,300 employees. Fred has said that the company “got big by staying small,” meaning relationships remain at the heart of the Better at Beans experience.

The 1975 Ford Bronco

The Ford Bronco was first introduced in August 1965 as a rugged sport-utility vehicle engineered to roam diverse terrain. It gained real momentum in 1974 with the wagon-style, featuring a cheerful palette, just as Ford envisioned. As a first-generation trailblazer, the Bronco laid the groundwork for generations of off-road enthusiasts and classic car aficionados alike.

This Bronco, found by our own Terry McGinley after an eight-month nationwide search, is a perfect representation of who we are as a company. It blends vintage styling with modern performance and reliability, staying true to both our heritage and our commitment to quality.
