Doylestown, Pa – The Fred Beans Automotive Group has once again partnered with the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation to provide brand-new winter coats to children who need them most. As part of the annual Driving Away the Cold program, Fred Beans dealerships purchased more than 800 coats to distribute across Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties to help local children stay warm this winter.
Since the program’s launch in 2008, Fred Beans dealerships have donated tens of thousands of coats. This year, participating Fred Beans dealerships contributed and helped deliver coats to the following locations for distribution:
- Chester County- Greater Brandywine YMCA Locations
- Bucks County- McDonald Elementary (Centennial School District) and Bensalem School District
- Montgomery County- North Penn School District Educational Foundation
“Partnering with the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation each year allows us to make a real, tangible impact on the lives of children in the communities where we have dealerships and where many of us not only work, but also live,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group. “So many of our Fred Beans team members volunteer to deliver and unpack the boxes of coats, realizing the impact of this donation. A new coat may seem like a small gift, but it provides comfort, confidence and warmth to those who need it most.”
Fred Beans is one of approximately 165 automotive dealers to annually participate in the Driving Away the Cold program. Together, these dealerships fund and distribute about 25,000 new coats each fall. Since its inception, the program has provided more than 700,000 brand-new coats, representing nearly $10 million in giving, to children across the five-county Greater Philadelphia area.

According to the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, a new winter coat continues to be one of the most frequently requested items by local social service agencies, reflecting the ongoing and significant need in the region. Through a wide network of social service agencies, YMCAs, school districts and community organizations, the Foundation ensures that coats reach children directly.
