The Beans Bronco helps mark 50 years of the Fred Beans Automotive Group with appearances at Peddler’s Village this summer and planned stops in the coming months throughout the region.
Doylestown, Pa. - Fred Beans moved his family to Doylestown 50 years ago this August, shortly after purchasing Mel Harris Ford in Doylestown in April 1975. To commemorate not only 50 years in business, but the growth of the Fred Beans Automotive Group in the Greater Philadelphia Region, a special Beans Bronco has hit the road. The community is invited to follow its journey and snap a few pictures with the fully restored 1975 Ford Bronco for a chance to win prizes and to take part in the Beans anniversary celebration.
Beans launched a webpage at Follow the Beans Bronco to chart the Beans Bronco’s stops throughout the year and to take requests for the vehicle to appear at community events. Fred Beans Automotive Group’s Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn channels also will share updates on the Beans Bronco.
Anyone who spots the Beans Bronco is encouraged to take a photo with it and post it to social media using the hashtags #BeansBronco and #FollowTheBronco. Each tagged photo enters the contributor into a raffle to win prizes from Fred Beans Automotive Group.
“We couldn’t have a 50th anniversary celebration without involving the community and our customers,” said Fred Beans Automotive Group Vice President Beth Beans Gilbert. “Our Beans Bronco will travel throughout our areas of operation to represent our past while also driving our legacy forward.”
Beans team member Terry McGinley found the Beans Bronco after an eight-month nationwide search. It shipped from Bloomington, Ill., to Doylestown after a makeover to retain its vintage styling with updates under the hood for a modern performance. The Bronco received a fresh coat of pain in the signature Fred Beans blue, and when it arrived in Doylestown, it was finalized with Beans branding.
“We hope customers everywhere have fun looking out for the Beans Bronco and participating in our photo challenge,” added Beans Gilbert. “We plan to share those images throughout the year to showcase the many people who are connected to us and have helped us get to this place in our history.”
So far, the Beans Bronco has made a stop at Peddler’s Village during the “Safari in Sand” event, parked next to a sand sculpture depicting Beans’ 50th anniversary. Next up, it will make appearances at the New Hope Auto Show, Plumstead Community Day and the Michener Art Museum in August and September.
